Judge Bitches- Mrs J MacAlpine ( Annatika)
Thank you for the invitation to judge this show. I was so proud to be invited to judge a show
in the country of my birth. I had a
lovely entry of bitches and thank those willing to give me the honour of going
over their bitches. I very much enjoyed
my day and was pleased with my final line up which afforded me plenty lovely
specimens to choose from. Thank you to
the committee for all their hard work resulting in a well run show. A special thank you to my two stewards Terry
and Elizabeth who kept everything running smoothly.

Judge Dogs - Mrs M Fox-Shone (Pamedna)
A very warm, friendly welcome awaited me at what is always a very well run show. Lovely atmosphere set in an idyllic part of the country and to boot a super entry of lovely dogs to judge. Thank you to everyone, exhibitors, Committee and my lovely stewards for making this a special weekend away and of course my companion Lesley. I loved my final line up and had a few very special dogs. My same remarks apply as earlier when I did bitches, the depth of quality generally is lacking at the moment and we need to work hard and take care of our lovely breed if we are to come through these lack lustre times. I feel we can and look forward to breeders continuing on with their enthusiasm for our breed and breeding exceptional, sound, typey dogs of all four colours for the future.
VETERAN DOG (3)
1 MACLAINE’S CH LOCHBUIE CAPPUCCINO
One of my favorite boys, now in his 9th year, a quality dog. Rich coloured ruby, excellent pigment, love his size, make and shape, handsome headpiece, such a sound dog and always moves true, although a little slower these days. He is every inch a Champion, a dog of lovely type and even more important, passing on his qualities to his children. Certainly a dog to be proud of. BEST VETERAN IN SHOW .
2 FRASER’S TINGEWOOD TAM O’SHANTER
Another lovely, quality ruby, good shape and nicely balanced. Lovely soft expression and moved well. Good for type. Shown in good condition.

He has a super shape, well balanced, good reach of neck and looks lovely in profile and on the move. Attractive head, handsome with dark eye and nice expression. Promising youngster who should mature well and have plenty of fun in the ring. A little naughty at times but charming with it.
2 SPALL & CLARK’S LLAPSTTAM’S SECRET SEVEN
Just 6 months, very much the baby here and giving a lot away. I liked his make and shape and he moved very well, small, beautifully balanced, and at one with his handler. Head still needs time but very correct for one so young. Lovely happy temperament, showed well.

Richly coated ruby boy, 11 months, different shape to my winner, longer cast but still well balanced, great neck and lay of shoulders and good rear angulation which makes him float on the move, keeping a firm top line and good tail carriage His head still needs to break and fill but he has time and this will complete the picture. 1 RIX’S CH RICKSBURY ROYAL HERITAGE JW
My notes simply say ‘a stallion of a dog’, every inch a champion. This 3 year old, well broken blenheim is all male. Nice for size, and well balanced, moderate bone. He has a very handsome headpiece, lovely big round eyes, well cushioned muzzle, correct ear set, soft expression. Well off for type! His coat is not his fortune, a little unruly, but hands on belies a very well made dog, excellent neck and shoulders, strong hind quarters, well let down hocks, he moved so soundly with plenty of drive, keeping a straight level topline and correctly carried tail which wagged gracefully. Such a sound dog..and to top it all a lovely typical Cavalier temperament. He has a lot to offer! I was very pleased to give him his 10th CC and Best in show on the referees’ nod to a lovely newly crowned blenheim bitch.
